Vaaranam Aayiram to be modified

When Gautham Menon showed his magnum opus Vaaranam Aayiram to the censors, the running time was 3 hours and 5 minutes. A day before the release on producer V.Ravichandran's request, he trimmed 10 minutes of the film
But after the opening day noon show, theatres in Tamilnadu complained - Padam rombam slow, interval thandi oru documentary mathiri irruku (The film is very slow, especially after interval it looks like a documentary).
By night show, Gautham instructed theatres to trim 12 minutes of the film, mainly the Delhi kidnapping episode scene. But most theatres outside Chennai City did their own editing of the film!
Now in some places after Surya's gets cured of drug addiction due to his fathers love and care, he is shown joining the army. The entire Surya's travel to Kashmir and Delhi including the kidnap episode has been chopped.
And some theatres have also trimmed Harris Jayaraj's favourite song in the film - the soft melody Anal Mele.., the last song in the film pictured on Surya and Divya!
Now in Chennai city, the running time of the film is 2 hrs and 41 minutes while beyond Chrompet in most places it is around 2 hrs 30 minutes!

did not see any part mentioned above being cut...

a must see movie for all...

Well this ooru karans have got no taste. If u giv them one kuthu song with a vulger dancer the movie was superb if u give them a movie for u to think abt it its slow n boring....

I loved the movie. Like SH mentioned every single minute of it was a good time. Goutham did a splendid job in this movie.

this is a movie where anyone who loves his dad must see. if u got no money to see contact me....i pay for u....later i claim back with interest.

actually the movie is neither slow or fast. it is just nice. packed. every minutes there is something in it. no part is left without any details..

the director is sure to win some awards for this movie. I think it is safe to say this is and would might be even be the movie of the year.

Hopefully.....but the way the Indian citizens r concerned I hav a slight doubt in the award part.

i watched it yesterday. a very touching movie indeed but to be frank, i only enjoyed the movie after the interval.

u got to watch it twice before u can go through the details....the director really did a very good job.

i dun deny the fact that it is a good movie. i liked it too...

me and 2 pac watched it twice....polla once

u know what, after watching the movie, i like the song 'eva enna' more than the rest of the songs in that movie...
