Chennai movie theatre shutdown
This afternoon police shutdown a movie theatre in Chennai. The Jayapradha Theatre on Peters road owned by former actress and MP, Jayapradha. The reason? Because a hefty corporation tax of 20 lakhs that had been pending had not been paid on time.
The case had been appealed but this morning the verdict seems to have gone against the theatre staying open for business. The squad emptied the manager’s office of all the reels of all the movie cans. The theatre had been screening two shows a day: Paruthiveeran at 12 noon and the Telugu movie, Krishna.
