'Bad language' in Parliament - Case closed

KUALA LUMPUR, THURS:
Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia has considered the case where a backbencher used the word 'b*****d' against an opposition member yesterday closed.
He said deputy speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar had demanded Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) to retract the the word, which he did.
"The matter had been solved," declared Pandikar Amin.
Things came to a head yesterday when Tajuddin used the word "b*****d" on an opposition member, M. Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat) after the opposition member of parliament said Tajuddin was "hated by the Indians in Pasir Salak".
A visibly-upset Tajuddin then shouted "b*****d" twice at Kulasegaran.
"How do you know this? You bloody b*****d? Show me proof," he shouted to the shock of members from both sides of the political divide.
Wan Junaidi then told both Tajuddin and Kulasegaran to retract their remarks.
After Question Hour this morning, Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) said words such as 'b*****d' and 'bloody b*****d' was more than unparliamentary.
"Such words cannot be just retracted. The Yang Berhormat from Pasir Salak should apologise and disciplinary action should be taken by referring him to the Rights and Privileges Committee," he said to thumps of approval from the Opposition block.
Pandikar Amin said the usage of unparliamentary words had not been confined to any specific individuals, but had been hurled by MPs from both sides of the divide since the House convened on April this year.
When N.Gobalakrishnan (PKR-Padang Serai) protested Pandikar Amin's stand, the speaker stood his ground and asked the House's secretary to continue with the proceedings.
